Just a big Thank You for sharing your adventures. Adrienne and Daniel Stanley Friends of BA and CV
PS. I have discovered when traveling alone that people are quicker to engage with you, almost protective. It appears that way often in your stories. Do you find it that way?
Thanks for reading Adrienne! Yes, I agree that traveling alone can provide more opportunities for interaction. When I first got here, someone pointed out to me that Italians REALLY like small children and older adults, and treat them with a respect that you don't always see in other countries. I didn't mind that he was lumping me into the "older adults" category, and he was right -- I have felt very well cared for and respected all along the way.
Beautiful photos! Your vivid descriptions of the Amalfi coast brought back so many memories of a trip to Positano 30 years ago...the lemons(!)...the amazing food...the gorgeous views...the terror and trauma of driving along the coastline... Love the trustedhousesitters.com tip!

Several years ago I took my Latin expert Tessa to Cava di Terreni and Pastum for a week after we explored Pompei and Herculaeum. Wonderful, off the beaten track part of Southern Italy. Love reading about your travels!
Ciao, Bella! Oh how much I am enjoying your travels and adventures! Your musings on the passeggiata choked me up a bit--I have found that the more things we are able to experience communally-- whether it’s looking skyward to observe an eclipse, sharing the challenges of pandemic life, or gazing forward together watching a gifted performer-- the stronger our bonds with our fellow humans are. The passeggiata reminded me of Camino, where I’ve never felt more connected to my fellow citizens of the world. Glad you could join that daily parade! (PS: Are these iPhone pics?) Your eye is exquisite!)💛

Good on you E. Good on you!
Corny question. Gorgonzealot?
Girl, you’re an inspiration. Enjoying your beautiful photos and descriptions so much.
While reading about your adventures and travel tips, I kept thinking: she’s a much better version of Rick Steves! 🤣
Aww thanks! :-)))

Hope all is well in Mexico Marcy!! (And I have a huge crush on Cava di Terreni.)
Let’s just say I’d have a heart attack on those roads. You are brave.
Also - at first glance - the guy in the Speedo reminded me of Stretch Armstrong. 😂
Haha yes! And in discretion, I did not show the view of Stretch from the rear...LOL!
