This is a stretch, but how you describe Sardinia's geographical location... reminded me of this book: “Clash of Civilizations Over an Elevator in Piazza Vittorio” by Amara Lakhous.
Thank you, Elizabeth! I love traveling along with you and appreciate the beautiful photographs, thoughtful explanations, and humor that you send our way. Keep it up!
How FUN to catch up with you on this early morning by the sea in Delaware...Day One of Vacation 2023. Your reflections, paired with the images, are a true delight-- looking forward to Q2. 💛
Thank you for sharing your experience in Sardinia. Friends visited briefly; and fell in love with the island. I do have a question…is it true the ferry stops running end of September?
Hi Rosemary, thanks and I'm not sure of the answer to your question. I took a short ferry ride while there, but did not arrive on the island by any of the ferries, which run from Rome, Naples and Palermo (and probably some other places). I flew because it was cheaper and so quick. I found ferryhopper.com to be helpful throughout Italy and Greece, so maybe you can get the answer there.
What a gem, didn’t realize Sardinia is so geo- and biodiverse. Really enjoyed the way you wove historical and cultural context into your Italian posts, and your photos are stunning! Thank you for sharing your adventures so vividly.
Those photos! Wow! I’m so glad Italy was all that and a bag of chips for you friend :) Thank you so very much for sharing your adventures with us. Continued safe travels for you!

I'll have to look for that book! Thanks for the tip!

This was my favorite post but enjoyed them all. The WW2 bit is heartbreaking and inspiring. Have fun in Cali!
Keep writing - I love hearing from you!
Elizabeth - Welcome to CA! Drop me a line and let's visit over coffee or a drink!
Yes yes! I'm almost there...roadtripping across the US and I hit California tomorrow. I'll contact you directly. Yay!
Where are you cat sitting?
The week of June 19 is my best week for visiting.
